Kings Courtyard, Bournemouth

Southern Concrete Services were employed by Greenward Associates and GAP Ltd structural engineers as principle contractors initially to inspect cracked brickwork and head stone at Kings Courtyard, Bournemouth.

It was apparent early on that the main cause of the defect were poorly installed masonry support angles. SCS proceeded to undertake emergency temporary works using MABEY products and structural scaffold to prop the masonry whilst further investigation could be undertaken.

It was decided by GAP and NHBC that the facades on the east and west elevations above the car park openings should be taken down and replaced. This included new remedial wall ties, insulation, movement joints and masonry supports.

This project was carried out with all occupants having full access to their homes and car parking spaces.
